Administrator
An administrator is a person who is given the power to distribute and manage the estate of a deceased person who left no will behind. In this way, administrators are much like executors. The administrator is usually appointed by a probate court and is given a set of responsibilities to carry out. First, the administrator needs to check on the assets and liabilities of the deceased person and ensure that any outstanding financial obligations are met. For example, if you do not have a will and pass away, there are a number of different problems that must be solved. First, there is the issue of the money that you owe to various creditors. Then, there is the problem of what should be done with any money, property or other assets that you have left behind. The administrator is the person who is appointed by the court to handle these problems.
