Bungalow
A bungalow is a detached house with one story and a partial second story, or attic, built into a sloping roof; the attic generally has dormer windows. The house also has a wide veranda, or front porch, under an extended roof. The porch may be open or enclosed. A bungalow generally has fewer square feet of living space than other homes. Per square foot, a bungalow is more expensive to build than an equivalent two-story home because the bungalow needs a relatively larger foundation and roof. The larger foundation also requires a larger lot. The bungalow is especially well-suited for the elderly and individuals with impaired mobility. It is easily accessible for the resident because all the living areas are on the same level. Since it is a smaller house, it is also generally easier to keep clean.
