Design/Build
In the past, an architect would design a structure and a series of contractors would complete the design. This trend is being replaced with the concept of design/build. The practice of design/build involves only one party who oversees the project from the planning phase until the finishing touches are put in place for construction. This makes it more convenient for homeowners because there is only one party to deal with rather than multiple entities. It also helps manage costs effectively since there is no need to get multiple quotes from various subcontractors. Contractors who use the design/build concept are better able to adhere to a construction schedule, meaning that the project is more likely to be completed in a timely manner than if multiple parties were used to complete different phases.
