Designer
A designer is the person who brings life to a house, industrial space, or office building once it has been completed. They can either work hand-in-hand with the architect while the project is in progress or they can come in once the construction phase is complete. Like architects, designers must be familiar with safety and building codes, and they use this knowledge to establish the functionality of the space, while ensuring they meet the needs and desires of the clients. The designer also takes note of the color scheme and decorating style expressed by the clients and presents it in the space through paint, fabric, furniture, and accessories. They can prepare plans to organize a cluttered office and provide much needed storage for an overcrowded closet. Some designers specialize in projects for people with special needs, historic restoration, green design, or custom furniture.
