Infill Development
An infill development is simply any property constructed of particular importance in an already established and developed area. The purpose of an infill development is to take advantage of underutilized land in an already developed area and use it to create new structures within the city limits of a particular area. These properties may be used to solve problems such as lengthy commutes or a lack of resourceful areas such as public facilities. These constructions may also occur because communities have growth boundaries that stop urbanization outside of a particular area. Infill developments may be used to assist in population growth in a particular city. For a proposed infill development to gain acceptance within a community, it must usually fit in with the basic guidelines of a town or city and serve its function without encumbering or congesting an already heavily populated area.
