Dakar Gibbs has over 25 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate finance and investment. He was previously a Senior Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for nearly 22 years where he focused on commercial real estate and affordable housing finance in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Dakar was a Banking Officer at Wells Fargo in the Commercial Real Estate division and focused on financing multi family, office, retail, and industrial properties. He has closed over $4 billion in transactions ranging from $5-$150 million.

Dakar is a lifetime member the Prairie View A&M Alumni Association and a member of the Prairie View A&M College of Business Advisory Board. He is also a licensed commercial and residential realtor and and a member of the Houston Association of Realtors, Texas Realtors, and National Association of Realtors. Dakar earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Prairie View A&M University where he also played basketball and served as captain. He is a native Houstonian and the proud father of 11 year old twins. His hobbies include reading, watching movies, coaching and mentoring youth.
