Personal Profile
I have always loved being connected to the people, their local environments and way of life where ever I have lived. I worked throughout the western states as an ecologist and wildland firefighter for US Forest Service. I immersed myself in many locales and rural lifestyles. I settled in southwestern New Mexico where I bought a farm on the Gila River and raised grass-fed beef and heritage animals. I opened a specialty market in Silver City where I became deeply involved with the local community and sold my ranch products and organic foods. A few years later an opportunity arose to work in real estate at the top producing CENTURY21 Hacienda Realty Brokerage. I believe this was a serendipitous and unique opportunity allowing me to combine my knowledge of the local environment with my ability to interact with the public.
To me, real estate transactions are similar to managing the complex logistics of a wildfire. There are a lot of interconnected and moving parts in both with the measure of true success rooted in good communication. I make it a priority that all parties are heard and respected. I want everyone involved to know and believe their interests and goals are always at the forefront, held in the highest regard and above mine at all times.
As a real estate broker, I listen and ask questions. Together with my client we build the most effective course of action to meet the client's needs and desires. For a seller this might entail staging their home to maximize its appeal, finding the sweet spot for market value, and bringing the best buyers to the table. For a buyer our strategy always includes an action plan to find the best fit home or property to match their criteria. Nothing makes me feel better than to make the magic happen!
Now that I have become a highly successful real estate professional specializing in residential, land, and ranch properties, I have continued to expand my skill set. In 2020 I completed the educational requirements for attaining certification as an Accredited Land Consultant with the Realtors Land Institute. I am a member of Residential Real Estate Council working on my Certified Residential Specialist Certification. Recently, I have taken the lead in renewable energy sales and leasing including solar, wind and carbon offsets.
My personal belief is that life is too short to not enjoy every day and no problem is too big that it can't be solved. Like a garden, there may be a few rocks that seem to be in the way, but with a little tending and some gentle maneuvering, most gardens will produce a bounty for all to enjoy. This is how I see buying and selling properties; it just takes some thought and a little maneuvering to make it all turn out right. I never shy from a challenge instead I strive to find solutions.
A naturalist and lover of New Mexico landscapes, I carve out time for plein air watercolor paintings. I am involved in local arts activities, currently serving as the Independent Artist Chairperson for the Silver City Art Association. I am also actively involved with New Mexico Wild, Audubon, Friends of the San Pedro River, and Sky Island Alliance.
