Personal Profile
A native of Massachusetts, Rod and his wife Terry call beautiful Round Hill, Va., their home. They have three grown kids: Josh is in the USAF in pilot training and Ben and Emma are both attending VA colleges. Rod and Terry enjoy living on a dirt road in the country, travel, shopping for antiques, and caring for the dog, goats, cats, and Terry's horse boarding business at Appleton Farm. Rod also directs the Patrick Henry College Chorale and Youth Music Academy Choir. After 17 years as a Music Pastor in churches in California and Canada, Rod began his real estate career in 1997 in Orange County, Calif., before moving his family to western Loudoun County in 2005. Rod's business is built on referrals, and his Centurion status is due to a reputation for honesty, straight answers, excellent service, and a commitment to follow through. An accredited relocation agent with Cartus, Rod serves as a buyer or seller agent and is a member of NVAR and the National Association of Realtors. Rod will encourage his clients to do what is in their best interests, even if it does not result in a sale for him at all. If you want a slick salesman, Rod is not your man. But if you want an experienced, detail-oriented agent who listens, makes a plan, and then acts on it, give Rod a call.

Seller reviewWe had worked with Rod before and found him to be the epitome of integrity and capability. He sold our first home in a trying market, dealing with bit of drama in our first sale and purchase. He succeeded with flying colors...we were so blessed to have him. Years later, we have just recently sold our home...again, Rod gave us first-rate attention, marketing, (that was state-of-the-art, and very impressive), wisdom, and negotiation through a myriad of issues that came up. He excelsin care and committment to his clients and is a superb real estate agent, and will always be the agent we suggest to others and the ONLY one we will ever use!

Buyer reviewSimply stated Rod Appleton is the best in the business and I won't do real estate business with anyone else. He has my highest esteem and I've recommended him already to several friends and will continue to do so. Rod is honest and caring and wants to put you in the best home for the best price and genuinely cares to understand what you're looking for. In an industry full of uncaring charlatans and con artists, Rod stands out as a values-based businessman that will only do the right thing by his clients. Not only will I recommend him to my friends and associates, I will only do future real estate business with him personally.

Seller reviewI have known Rod for quite a few years and I have played with him in the church band. I was comfortable with the fact that I could trust him to listen to me and put our own considerations above his and to do what is best for us. I think that during the course of our journey to sell our town house that those beliefs were held to be true. The home inspection results were comical. There was one item that my wife Elise thought was not needed and not necessary to repair. Rod thought otherwise and took care of the problem himself. I think that is pretty unprecedented and amazing. The town house was a rental property for us and we had a lot of bad experiences with our tenants. The house was unoccupied for quite a bit last year and we rented for under value for a while. The property was a drain on our financial resources and a great cause for anxiety. We had a sense of urgency to cut loose this burden. Rod understood our situation and made our dream come true. It is a great relief and blessing.
