A friend of my parents recommended John Tierney. I consider the recommendation extended to me as a gift - a true "meant-to-be," transformative moment that led to a wonderful outcome. It was fate! From the moment we started working together, John Tierney was extremely friendly and helpful during the house-hunting process. He quickly understood my needs and customized searches based on my requirements. When I passed on properties, even after taking me on 2-3 visits to the same property, he was very patient and resilient. He was a true professional in that way; I greatly appreciated his tolerance of my picky ways. After I'd decide against a property, he'd immediately send me new properties that were even more fine-tuned based on my expanding criteria. As a single woman and first-time home buyer, I had no knowledge of the house-buying process. Given my lack of experience, I was a little nervous and wary about what I had to accomplish. John graciously handled it ALL for me. He used his extensive connections to get me in contact with a lender, a lawyer, the inspection company, etc. He guided me through every important step of home buying to make it a seamless, painless experience. John Tierney was GREAT to collaborate with; my parents had joked he was like a second father to me. He is kind, compassionate, funny, and understanding. He made me laugh all the time and made light of the obstacles and challenges we faced together. What I liked most about John was his genuine, authentic personality. I trusted him; I instinctively felt he was not driven to make a sale, but instead, he was truly committed to finding the right home for me. When I officially closed on the house, John was really happy for me. That made him feel like a friend, so much more than a realtor. I had said once to John that one of my fantasies in owning a home was sitting outside on my deck and drinking a cup of coffee, enjoying my outdoor surroundings. We visited many, many townhouses/homes in search of the ideal outside space. Now, as I write this review of John, I'm sitting on my beautiful, private deck drinking coffee. He did it. He made my dream come true. :O)

John was terrific. This is our first home purchase and we were both clueless. John walked us through each and every step carefully. He was always reachable and always willing to explain everything, though never was he condescending in any way. Since this was our first house our budget was about $400k. John found us an excellent variety of homes in the exact area we wanted. He helped us swoop in and grab this house before anyone else could make a bid. We were stuck between a beautiful home in Bloomfield and the home we purchased in Clifton. John took the time to help us weigh the pros and cons of each property AND he pointed out many features & issues that didn't even occur to us to question. He helped us make this huge decision and I can't express how much we value his input, instruction and expertise. John was always flexible with timing and he worked around our annoying and hectic schedules with a smile. We plan to be in this home for about 5 years and then hopefully we will move to a larger home. When that time comes, you can bet that I'll be on the phone to John to both list this current house and to find us a new one! We really struck gold with Mr. John Tierney!
