A native of Massachusetts, Rod and his wife Terry call beautiful Round Hill, Va., their home. They have three grown kids: Josh is in the USAF in pilot training and Ben and Emma are both attending VA colleges. Rod and Terry enjoy living on a dirt road in the country, travel, shopping for antiques, and caring for the dog, goats, cats, and Terry's horse boarding business at Appleton Farm. Rod also directs the Patrick Henry College Chorale and Youth Music Academy Choir. After 17 years as a Music Pastor in churches in California and Canada, Rod began his real estate career in 1997 in Orange County, Calif., before moving his family to western Loudoun County in 2005. Rod's business is built on referrals, and his Centurion status is due to a reputation for honesty, straight answers, excellent service, and a commitment to follow through. Rod Appleton was an excellent realator for us. It was our first time buying a house, and we wanted someone we know was knowledgeable and would be able to advise us through this new and daunting process. Rod was everything we could have hoped in this regard. He was helpful in pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of each house without making us feel like our ultimate decision would be "right or wrong" in his opinion. We felt informed and empowered but not pressured or judged as we came to our own decisions. We felt like we could ask for his opinion and get strong, knowledgeable advice which we could weigh, but never felt like if we decided to do something else that it would be a problem. Additionally, he was very responsive, walked us through each step of the buying process and was an excellent negotiator. We would strongly recommend Rodney Appleton to anyone, but especially to those new to the process of homebiying.

Maybe every relocation has hiccups. Ours certainly did. Two things impressed me the most about Rod as our buyers' agent -- despite the hiccups caused by the sale of our home in another state. First, he was so patient with us. Rod continued to work with us as if we were his most important clients. Second, he was so organized and professional. He clearly explained the process, maintained the agreements and amendments in perfect order, and kept us informed at every step. It was a real contrast to other real estate agents we have worked with.
